While we provide enough wood to get you started, you can easily grab more from the local hardware store in Yarra Junction for endless fireside moments.
For year-round comfort, the lounge also features split system heating and cooling, ensuring the perfect temperature no matter the season. Sink into the plush seating, complete with soft throws and textured cushions that make relaxing effortless.
Across from the fireplace, you’ll find a sleek smart TV with access to your favourite streaming services – perfect for movie marathons or catching up on binge-worthy shows. (Wi-Fi and Netflix are included)

COTTAGE DETAILS
Check In - Check Out
It is important that our housekeeping staff are able to prepare the cottage for guests that follow you.
Our check in & out times are strictly as follows:
CHECK IN - 2pm
CHECK OUT - 11am
If you wish to arrive or depart outside these times, please contact us in advance.
We will be more than happy to accommodate your needs if possible.
Rubbish bins go out on Wednesday evening for collection early Thursday morning.
Bins need to be placed near the Public Telephone Box for safe roadside collection.
For your convenience we supply cleaning products, vacuum cleaner broom, mop, and bucket etc. to enable you to keep your surroundings clean and comfortable during your stay. These are located in the laundry under the stairs.
Before departure please check that all the cooking gear, crockery and cutlery is washed, dried and put away in the cupboards.
Please leave the house in the condition you have found it.
Water
Riders Rest relies solely on tank water for use in the house.
All tank water goes through a filter before entering the house and is fresh and perfectly safe. You may hear the water pump switching on when water is in use or occasionally coming on to keep water pressure up to the house, this is perfectly normal.
Please keep in mind that we rely on tank water and be water wise.
The Garden taps use river water pumped directly from the Little Yarra River behind the house and is also very safe to use.
The property is ideal for walks & picnics along the Little Yarra River. We also have enough room for a campfire beside the river on those starry nights, (seasonal fire restrictions apply). Please close all paddock gates behind you if they are closed as you go in.
